Overview: A well-established and collaborative engineering team is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Project Manager to lead technical project execution, team supervision, and client engagement efforts on high-impact infrastructure and environmental projects. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Civil Engineer who enjoys combining technical depth with leadership responsibilities and is ready to take ownership of projects across California’s Central Coast.<hr/>What You’ll Do:<ul class="list-disc pl-8"><li>Lead multidisciplinary water resources engineering projects from concept through delivery</li><li>Supervise and mentor design teams including engineers, drafters, and subconsultants</li><li>Oversee drainage studies, hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping, and stream restoration design</li><li>Ensure regulatory compliance with FEMA, RWQCB, SWRCB, and local post-construction requirements</li><li>Manage contracts, schedules, scopes, budgets, and client communications</li><li>Prepare proposals, participate in RFP/RFQ responses, and lead project interviews</li><li>Engage with clients and public agencies to support project success and long-term relationships</li></ul><hr/>Required Qualifications:<ul class="list-disc pl-8"><li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering</li><li>Registered California Professional Civil Engineer (PE)</li><li>6+ years of water resources engineering experience</li><li>2+ years of project management experience with supervisory responsibilities</li><li>Strong communication, leadership, and client service skills</li></ul><hr/>Technical Expertise in the Following Areas:<ul class="list-disc pl-8"><li>Drainage and detention basin design</li><li>Hydraulic and hydrologic modeling</li><li>Sediment transport modeling and stream restoration</li><li>Floodplain studies and FEMA compliance (e.g., LOMCs)</li><li>Water quality design (LID, HMP, BMPs, TMDLs)</li></ul>Software Proficiency Preferred:<ul class="list-disc pl-8"><li>SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Geo-RAS/Geo-HMS</li><li>AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation</li><li>ArcMap (v10+), WSPGW, LSPC/SUSTAIN</li></ul><hr/>Preferred Skills & Credentials:<ul class="list-disc pl-8"><li>Experience with Central Coast PCRs and regional regulatory agencies</li><li>Familiarity with public works procurement processes</li><li>Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field</li><li>Certifications such as CFM, PMP, QSD, QSP, LEED, ENV-SP</li><li>Programming or automation experience a plus</li></ul><hr/>What’s in It for You:<ul class="list-disc pl-8"><li>Competitive compensation with bonus and paid overtime</li><li>Comprehensive benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life & Disability Insurance</li><li>Profit Sharing and 401(k)</li><li>Generous personal leave and paid holidays</li><li>Engaging company culture with regular team-building activities</li></ul><hr/>Ready to shape the future of water infrastructure along the Central Coast?
