This position is designed for individuals with a robust mortgage background, strong organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for ordering and validating essential documents such as property titles, appraisals, and credit reports while collaborating closely with customers and Mortgage Loan Officers to ensure compliance with regulatory timelines. Demonstrating proficiency in agency and investor guidelines, you will structure files effectively and manage the submission process through an Automated Underwriting System (AUS). Your role includes independently clearing underwriting conditions and preparing files for final approval, all while maintaining proactive communication with borrowers throughout the loan lifecycle.As a vital member of the team, you will ensure that loan files meet compliance standards to minimize post-closing exceptions and meet service level expectations efficiently.What We're Looking ForTo excel as a Mortgage Loan Processor at Mercantile Bank, candidates must bring a combination of technical skills, industry knowledge and exceptional customer service.Requirements:<ul><li>1 to 3 years of job-related experience in mortgage processing and documentation</li><li>Strong organizational skills</li><li>Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel</li><li>Knowledge of Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA, RD, and VA guidelines</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Prior mortgage loan processing experience</li><li>Experience working with Encompass (Loan Operating System)</li></ul>In addition to the requirements listed above we are looking for candidates with a two-year college degree, specialized certifications, or training in relevant vendor courses.
