Job Description The Gettysburg National Battlefield Museum is located on the Gettysburg Battlefield. We partner with a non-profit, The Gettysburg Foundation, who owns and operates the Museum in collaboration with the National Park Service. Our Refreshment Saloon is a ?buffeteria? style dining room, seating 144 guests with an adjoining patio that seats up to 75 guests. Battlegrounds Café & Grille is a smaller café, offering a limited hot food menu, cold grab and go options and specialty beverages. We also host a variety of after-hour catering events.We know that a Chef?s job isn?t only about the food. It takes skills, dedication, patience, and the right opportunities. We?re looking for Chef Manager who can help us deliver the best customer service and food experiences. Reporting to the General Manager, you?ll take a hands-on approach in focusing on team development, culinary expertise, safety protocol, and client relations. Our Chef Manager will also play a key role in helping us meet budget requirements and execute company-delivered programs. Job Responsibilities <ul><li>Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities </li><li>Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food </li><li>Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality </li><li>Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus </li><li>Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen </li><li>Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrates culinary techniques </li></ul>At Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done make a positive impact for our employees and for our customers. The Museum Visitor Support Specialist will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and visitor support at the National Museum of Health and Medicine. This role serves as a primary point of contact for visitors and is responsible for creating a positive guest experience through public interaction, visitor assistance, gallery support, and operational oversight. The ideal candidate is personable, professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a public-facing museum environment.Duties & Responsibilities:<ul><li>Welcome guests, staff the reception desk, and provide excellent customer service and information about the museum, exhibits, collections, and current activities.</li><li>Offer orientation and directional assistance, including locations of restrooms, food service, transportation, and other amenities.</li><li>Answer the museum’s main telephone lines promptly and direct calls to the appropriate staff members.</li><li>Monitor gallery appearance and visitor experience and support daily museum operations as needed.</li><li>Encourage visitor engagement by collecting feedback, promoting museum activities, and informing guests of exhibits, programs, and age-appropriate activities for children.</li><li>Support tours, demonstrations, educational programming, special events, and docent activities, including preparation of materials and setup of program spaces.</li><li>Monitor galleries and exhibit spaces by conducting regular walkthroughs, troubleshooting minor interactive or technical issues, and reporting concerns to supervisors.</li><li>Perform light cleaning of exhibit areas and high-touch surfaces while reporting additional maintenance or cleaning needs.</li><li>Inspect exhibit displays and museum objects daily and report any anomalies or concerns in writing to museum leadership.</li><li>Provide basic first aid and emergency response support, including AED use if trained.</li><li>Assist with entry control, security awareness, and compliance with museum safety and physical security procedures.</li><li>Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development activities and perform additional duties as assigned.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in History, Museum Studies, or a related field preferred.</li><li>Experience: Previous experience working in a museum, visitor services, customer service, or a similar public-facing role preferred.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to engage visitors of all ages in a friendly and professional manner.</li><li>Comfortable working independently and resolving visitor concerns.</li><li>Ability to lift and move chairs, tables, and program materials as needed.</li><li>Basic first aid and AED certification is a plus.</li></ul>Preferred Skills:<ul><li>Knowledge of museum operations and visitor engagement best practices.</li><li>Experience supporting tours, educational programming, or special events.</li></ul>DAWSON is an Equal Opportunity/VEVRAA federal contractor.
