Home unit assigned on first day of orientation, with possible units including Trauma Surgical, Neuroscience, MedSurg/Oncology, Clinical Decision Unit, Orthopedics, and MS/Ortho/Urology. Unit-specific skills may include wound care, chest tubes, NGT, trach care, ostomy care, PICC/CVL dressing changes, IV starts, and PCA pump management.
