JOB DESCRIPTIONProcurement Sourcing and Strategy Manager<hr/>Midwest Vision Partners (MVP) is seeking a highly analytical and results-oriented Procurement Sourcing and Strategy Manager. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement, this role is a critical driver of our financial health and operational excellence.The primary mission of this role is to generate documented hard savings (cost-out from budget) and cost avoidance through aggressive RFQ management, spend categorization, and rigorous contract negotiation. As a key leader within our procurement function, you will transition fragmented data into a cohesive strategy, taking direct ownership of the spend classification and savings reporting that fuels our growth.This is a Hybrid Role only in Chicago IL <hr/>About Midwest Vision Partners Vision is a precious gift. Headquartered in Chicago, MVP proudly supports 70+ locations across Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Illinois, with over 140 physicians and 1,500 employees, all focused on providing top-notch, customized results for each patient.<hr/>What You Will Be Working On<ul><li>Execute Annual Savings Mandate: Develop and lead high-impact sourcing strategies and RFQs designed to deliver documented annual hard savings and cost avoidance across clinical and indirect categories</li><li>Spend Categorization & Analysis: Take full ownership of spend categorization, transforming raw data into a structured taxonomy to identify cost-out opportunities and leverage points.</li><li>Develop and execute category management strategies to optimize total cost of ownership for your strategic areas of spend.</li><li>Contract & Renewal Management: Directly manage a comprehensive negotiation pipeline, ensuring proactive engagement for all contract renewals to secure favorable terms and mitigate risk.</li><li>Lead all sourcing, negotiation, and contract management activities for the strategic expenditure, ensuring quality and competitive pricing.</li><li>Savings Reporting & Visibility: Partner with the Procurement Analyst to maintain meticulous savings trackers and performance dashboards, providing the company leadership with accurate, real-time data.</li><li>Stakeholder Collaboration: Build collaborative relationships with clinical teams and practice managers to ensure cost-reduction initiatives align with clinical quality and service standards.</li><li>Identify, develop, and implement cost-reduction initiatives and process improvements for the business</li><li>Strategy Development: Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned portfolios, staying abreast of market trends and technological advancements to optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).</li></ul><hr/>What Will Make You Awesome<ul><li>Proven Savings Hunter: A results-driven mindset with a verified track record of securing significant, measurable cost savings in a healthcare or medical device environment.</li><li>Data Architect: Advanced expertise in spend analysis and categorization, with the ability to find "the needle in the haystack" within complex financial data.</li><li>Elite Negotiator: Exceptional contract management skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, from surgeons to C-suite executives.</li><li>Process Visionary: Demonstrated experience in procurement process ownership, focusing on building sustainable systems and center-of-excellence frameworks.</li><li>Strategic Thinker: Ability to pivot between deep-dive data analysis and high-level sourcing strategy development.</li><li>Comfortable Working with Uncertainty: Comfortable making decisions with incomplete picture and the ability to forward progress despite ambiguity in goals, data, or requirements.</li></ul><hr/>What You Know To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience or knowledge:<ul><li>Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.</li><li>Experience: Minimum of 6 years in procurement or supply chain, with at least 2 years of direct category management experience.</li><li>Process Expertise: 1–2 years of dedicated experience in procurement process ownership or "Center of Excellence" work, specifically improving procurement workflows is highly preferred</li><li>Sector Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the healthcare vendor landscape, pricing structures, and compliance considerations is highly preferred.</li><li>Certification: A relevant professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is highly desirable.</li></ul><hr/>Total Rewards & Salary MVP offers a robust total rewards package, including:<ul><li>Medical, dental, and vision/optical coverage</li><li>401(k) with company match</li><li>Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)</li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</li><li>Seven company-paid holidays</li><li>Paid time off, parental leave, and sick leave</li><li>Supplemental benefits including life, disability, AD&D, accident, and critical illness coverage</li></ul>The wage for this role is $100,000 – $130,000. This role is expected to be the lead negotiator with major National and Regional payers. The Contracting Director will coordinate directly with their Market Access, Contracting Performance, Sales, and Operations colleagues to ensure there are no barriers to access for patients. This role is also expected to lead the collaboration with Revenue Cycle Management to ensure billing requirements are contracted appropriately and timely resolutions are achieved with outstanding Accounts Receivable. Leads the development and presentation of strategic business reviews for accounts with <250K lives.</li><li>Ensures that Manager(s) and Analyst(s) supporting their assigned accounts understand the systems, operational processes and product pricing strategies for each respective customer segment to facilitate the development of effective proposals and contracts.</li><li>Leads the review and approval process for specific account proposals.  Ensures account proposals, models and pricing are accurate and completed in accordance with defined service levels to meet internal and external customer timelines.</li><li>Develops proposals that comply with Divisional goals and objective as well as Corporate policies and procedures.  Provides direction on the methodology and approach to evaluate proposals.  Ensures that the analytical framework for proposal development is consistent with company standards and ensures that action-oriented data is available for decision makers.</li><li>Ensures that contract terms and conditions reflect pricing parameters of approved account proposals.  Consults with legal as needed to draft specific contract language that meets business objectives.</li><li>Acts as the subject matter expert on departmental data, business metrics and operational processes</li></ul><h2>SupervisoryResponsibilities</h2>Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
