Performs routine clinical procedures independently including providing resuscitation and stabilization of newborn, endotracheal tube placement/intubation, insert and remove nasogastric tube, PICC line insertion, umbilical catheter insertion (arterial/venous), peripheral arterial line insertion, perform venous and arterial punctures for blood sampling, cultures and IV catheterization, Insert intraosseous needle, chest tube insertion and removal, thoracentesis, lumber puncture, administer surfactant, double or partial volume exchanges transfusion can be done with direction of Neonatologist at referring hospital in emergent situations only. Must come on site, when requested, for the following deliveries: thick (particulate) meconium stained amniotic fluid, premature infants < 36 weeks gestation, stat C-section for abruption, placenta previa, prolapsed cord, or suspected fetal distress, vaginal delivery for suspected fetal distress, multiple births, or care provider requests.
