<div><strong>SUMMARY OF POSITION:<br/></strong><br/></div><div>Build and perform tests on electronics, electrical systems, and components to determine operability. Performs a variety of maintenance activities in addition to electro-mechanical duties.<br/><br/></div><div><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></div><ul><li>Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning circuits and wiring.</li><li>Utilize testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ammeters, watt meters, etc.</li><li>Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning machinery and equipment.</li><li>Install and activate new equipment.</li><li>General maintenance activities which may involve hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, steam and electrical.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></div><ul><li>Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.</li><li>Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.</li><li>Maintain production schedules.</li><li>Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.</li><li>Other duties may be assigned later.</li></ul><div><br/><strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</strong></div><div><br/><strong>Education required/ preferred:</strong></div><ul><li>Minimum 2-year tech degree preferred or equivalent PLC programming experience.</li></ul><div><br/><strong>Experience:</strong></div><ul><li>PLC programming required.</li><li>Manufacturing experience preferred.</li></ul><div><br/><strong>Preferred Skills/Qualifications:</strong></div><ul><li>Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.</li><li>Basic knowledge and use of hand tools.</li><li>Sound decision making skills.</li><li>Good math, reading, writing skills.</li><li>Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.</li><li>Mental and visual acuity for production of quality product.</li><li>Strong trouble shooting skills.</li></ul><div><br/><strong>Skills/Competencies:</strong></div><ul><li>Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office package.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.</li><li><strong>Other Skills:</strong> Ability to work well in a team environment.</li></ul><div><br/><strong>Assessment:  Employee must pass Pre-employment screening:</strong></div><ul><li>Required PPE:<ul><li>Safety glasses.</li><li>Hearing protection in certain areas.</li><li>ANSI Z41 Safety Shoes.</li><li>Kevlar gloves in certain areas.</li></ul></li><li>Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, carrying, stooping, bending, reaching & lifting are done on a frequent basis. Climbing, lifting overhead, pushing, pulling & grasping are performed on an occasional basis.</li><li>Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions.</li><li>Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div>The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.</div>
