Assist the patient with changing/dressing Transports the patient by stretcher, bed, or wheelchair (this is a large part of the job) Identifies abnormal findings that could adversely affect surgical and patient outcomes, including abnormal vital signs, Accucheck results, lab, EKG, and CXR results Report all abnormal findings to the appropriate nursing staff Escorts patients to holding rooms Assists with patient changing, and removal of belongings such as jewelry, dentures, contact lenses, etc. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Provides basic clinical skills required to safely perform routine delegated patient care activities, record and report pertinent clinical data, knowledge and use of specialized patient care equipment.
