Is accountable for supervision of departmental staff, training, monitoring, and evaluation of staff, managing department supplies and inventory, assists in the developing, reviewing, and revising of department policies and procedures, assessing clinical laboratory quality control and assurance, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory bodies (e.g., state, federal, College of American Pathologists, and Joint Commission). Ensures compliance with rules, regulations and accreditation requirements of regulatory agencies, including Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), College of American Pathologists (CAP), Joint Commission (JC), AABB, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
