Required skills include vent management, airway management, high-flow O2, chest tubes, peripheral IV starts/maintenance, wound care/dressing changes, wound vacs, drains (JP, hemovacs), nephrostomy tubes, pain management, PCA, central line management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. The progressive care area includes Afib RVR and medical and surgical progressive care patients; it does not take cath lab patients, patients from major cardiac or neuro surgeries, or major trauma patients.
