As a Nurse Extern, you will gain hands-on clinical experience alongside Nurse Practitioners, learning about substance use disorder treatment, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and the social factors that affect a patient’s health, such as housing, insurance, and access to food. Under the supervision of our licensed providers, and within the scope of your nursing education, you will perform clinical duties such as vital signs, phlebotomy, vaccine administration, IM injections, wound care, urine collection, and patient education.
