Common Cases general: choles, appys, hernia repairs, GYN: mastectomy, lumpectomy, hysters, (L&D to do c-sections), ortho including total joints, podiatry, ENT- thyroidectomy, parathyroid, BMT (bilateral myringotomy tubes), MSDL (microdirect laryngoscopy), lots of GI- scopes, robotics-DaVinci Xi, occasional minor trauma. Unit/Department specific orientation Will orient a few days 1 full week with buddy call to go on their own the following week , depending on experience, to get through a majority of the cases- can be up to a week and then expected to be on their own.
