What You'll Do::
Under supervision of the Dean of General Education, the adjunct instructor provides a learning experience in the classroom, online, and/or in the lab using a variety of teaching methods such as lectures and demonstrations and using audiovisual and technological aids to supplement the presentations as well as evaluating their achievements. <ul><li>Keep students engaged in a classroom environment while following an established curriculum/syllabus.</li><li>Create positive educational climate for students to learn in while establishing and communicating clear objectives for all learning activities.</li><li>Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.</li><li>Manage student behavior in the classroom/online. Observe and evaluate student's performance.</li><li>Identify and refer students who are “at risk" of not being successful to the Student Success Coordinator.</li><li>Provide ongoing student advisement and academic counseling by tutoring and mentoring students on an individual basis when needed.</li><li>Grade tests and projects, maintain grade books, track attendance and perform other administrative duties as needed.</li><li>Administer oral, written, or performance tests to measure progress and to evaluate training effectiveness.</li><li>Participate in ongoing conferences, seminars, and training sessions (2 education in-services, 1 distance education in-service, proof of at least 2 professional development activity annually).</li><li>Provide input and participate in academic committees formed for the purpose of enrichment of both the programs and students.</li></ul>Other duties as assigned.

What We Need From You::
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.<ul><li>Masters’ degree or higher from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) required.</li><li>A minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area required. States of Georgia, Ohio, Texas and Virginia require</li><li>Master’s degree in the discipline OR a Master’s degree (any discipline) with 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework relevant to the discipline.</li><li>Two years of practical experience in the course content area with a related degree, or three years of practical experience if the degree is in an unrelated field is required.</li><li>A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator preferred.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.</li></ul>

Under the direct supervision of the Patient Services Manager and Food Service Supervisors, the Ambassador role is to obtain patient menu selections, assemble and deliver patient trays and attend to patients’ food needs in a timely fashion. Always follows AIDET+ (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) plus the 4 P’s (pain, potty, possessions, and position) guidelines for nonclinical care partners in all interactions with the patient.

Department: Food and Nutrition Schedule/Status:  Varies; Full Time Standard Hours/Week:  40 General Description:     Under the direct supervision of the Patient Services Manager and Food Service Supervisors, the Ambassador role is to obtain patient menu selections, assemble and deliver patient trays and attend to patients’ food needs in a timely fashion. The Ambassador is competent with patient diets and ensures customer satisfaction.  Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills and interactions with patients, nursing care partners and visitors.  The Ambassador is the initial and primary representative, to the patient, of the Food and Nutrition Services department. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare.  Key Responsibilities:  <ul><li>Visits patients, in-person, to obtain meal orders by using iPad and Breadbox program.  Follows up with all missed patients with a return visit or telephone call to the room prior to meal service, to assure orders are taken.</li><li>Always follows AIDET+ (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) plus the 4 P’s (pain, potty, possessions, and position) guidelines for nonclinical care partners in all interactions with the patient. </li><li>Provides special orders list to cooks and prepares all cold special items for meal service. </li><li>Assembles patient trays according to prescribed diet and patient orders. Pays special attention to all “high risk” trays (altered consistencies and food allergies). Focuses on tray presentation and accuracy. </li><li>Delivers patient trays timely and according to prescribed meal delivery schedule. </li><li>Assures maintenance of hot and cold food temperatures during tray delivery </li><li>Uses a “3 patient identifier” with all patients (name, birth date, any food allergies?) to assure trays are delivered to the correct patient.  </li><li>Assures that all patients’ meal needs are handled and takes responsibility for patient satisfaction during the shift for assigned floors </li><li>Records pantry refrigerator and freezer temperatures on assigned floors/units twice daily and takes appropriate action for discrepancies.  Corrective actions are recorded, as needed, to note actions taken </li><li>Knowledgeable of tray line operations, all therapeutic diets, food allergies, customer service actions, computer, iPad and printer usage. </li><li>Practices safe food handling and HACCP compliance during the preparation and serving of all foods.  </li><li>Assists other team members and asks for help, when needed </li><li>Participates in daily huddles and assists management, as appropriate, in performing tasks conducive to efficient and effective operations of the department.</li><li>Effectively communicates with co-workers for successful completion of duties.  </li><li>Performs similar or related duties as assigned. </li><li>Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area. </li></ul>Requirements: Formal Education: <ul><li>High School Diploma or GED preferred.</li></ul>Work Experience: <ul><li>0 to < 1 year</li></ul>Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations: <ul><li>None </li></ul>Full Time Benefits:  Eligible to participate in a number of PMC-sponsored benefits, including:  <ul><li>Benefits Start on Day 1 </li><li>Health, Dental and Vision Insurance </li><li>403(b) Retirement Program </li><li>Tuition Reimbursement/Educational Assistance </li><li>EAP, Flex Spending, Accident, Critical and Other Applicable Benefits </li><li>Annual Accrual of 152 Personal Leave Bank (PLB) Hours </li></ul>
