Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing, and proofreading skills Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Knowledgeable about and experience with electronic medical records systems Knowledgeable about and experience with current nutritional science theories and best practices Knowledgeable about and experience with adult and child education techniques, practices, and tools Knowledgeable about community resources and health/social service systems in San Diego and Riverside Counties Ability to translate best practices into meaningful and culturally appropriate resources Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural, and economic groups Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to communicate proper nutrition driving health to patients Excellent planning and organizational ability Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs/weight Ability to stand for long periods of time. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics required; master's degree in nutrition preferred Valid registered dietitian credential required from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Advanced board certification in a specialty area by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) preferred (CSG, CDCES, CSOWN, etc) Certified diabetes educator certificate highly preferred Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
