TheraCare is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) for a PRN home health opportunity providing in-home physical therapy services to adult and geriatric patients throughout Austin, TX and surrounding areas. Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs.

Job Description:
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will implement treatment programs to assist pediatric patients with physical, cognitive, sensory and social/emotional disabilities or delays by planning and administering occupational therapy in the home and community.

Responsibilities include planning and overseeing therapeutic activities, assessing the needs of patients, and developing, and administering programs to meet patient's needs; assessing and documenting progress of the individual patient and/or patient groups; providing clinical occupational therapy services; training others related to OT services, plans of care for patients, and specific tasks needed to support treatment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of the principles and techniques of rehabilitation therapy in working with the following patient populations: mentally ill, cognitively impaired (TBI, learning disabled, Alzheimers, dementia), physically challenged, functionally impaired, and /or with infectious disease.
