The DBMI and the CU Anschutz campus environments are ideally built for development and translation of work in this space through its strong connections to health systems (Children's Hospital Colorado, UCHealth, the Colorado VA) as well as the University of Colorado Cancer Center, Colorado Center for Personalized Medicine, the Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, and other campus units focused on translation of data, models, and methods to practice. DBMI is the academic home for over 30 tenure-track faculty who use genome-scale biology, multiscale modeling, mathematical physiology, simulation, machine learning, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, data integration, and mathematical and predictive analytics to marry disparate but related aspects of the campus's clinical and research portfolios.
