Renders professional nursing care to peri-operative patients including review of patients’ charts, administration of medications, starting IV’s and hanging blood, electrocardiography, venipuncture, catheterization, defibrillation, and other complex or routine treatments as prescribed by physician or as required by patient’s condition. Assists during surgical procedures by preparing and/or directing others in preparation of instruments, equipment and supplies; scrubbing or circulating on cases; anticipating needs of surgeon; maintaining sterile techniques; applying dressings; administering medication; and providing for total nursing care of patients in the Operating Room.-
