Job Title Online Learning Librarian (Associate) Agency Texas A&M University Department Libraries Proposed Minimum Salary $6,027.92 monthly Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description A Glimpse of the Job The Texas A&M University Libraries are seeking an Online Learning Librarian to lead the strategic development of digital learning initiatives that advance information literacy and student success. This position guides thegrowth of the Libraries' online learning portfolio by overseeing the design and assessment of tutorials, modules, and other digital learning objects created with tools such as Canvas, Articulate 360, and multimedia platforms. The Online Learning Librarian collaborates with librarians and subject matter experts to produce high-quality online instruction on information literacy, library resources, and library services. The role ensures that all digital learning environments reflect evidence-based pedagogy and meet accessibility standards. Working closely with the Director of Experiential Learning and Engagement and colleagues across the Libraries, the Online Learning Librarian contributes to planning, resource allocation, and program development. Together with their collaborative leadership team, this role works to advance the instructional mission of the University Libraries. This is an on-campus opportunity. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at our College Station campus. Salary: $72,335/annually with a $3,000 allowance for professional development. Opportunities to Contribute Coordinator of Online Learning Services <ul><li>Coordinates the University Libraries' tutorial program and online learning initiatives using tools such as Texas A&M's course management systems (Canvas), Articulate 360, and other multimedia tools. </li><li>Designs, produces, and maintains multimedia instructional content, including video tutorials, interactive modules, infographics, and other digital learning objects. </li><li>Maintains knowledge of emerging trends in online learning and provides recommendations of new technologies or services to library leadership. </li><li>Ensures digital learning meets accessibility standards and evidence based-pedagogical best practices. </li><li>Collaborates with regional and local locations at the University Libraries on access of Library collections and improving virtual learning for distance learners. </li></ul>Collaborations & Partnerships<ul><li>Participates in unit meetings and interdepartmental activities throughout the Libraries. Collaborates with colleagues on design, delivery, assessment, and promotion of library programs that support information literacy and student success. </li><li>Coordinates the improvement of the Libraries' online learning instruction focusing on information literacy, learning theory, and student development in online environments. </li><li>Actively engages and supports Library and TAMU initiatives. </li></ul>Contribution to the Profession<ul><li>Participates in scholarly activities and professional service for professional development and to incorporate new ideas and technologies into library services and programs. </li><li>Serves on campus and library committees and engages with campus units to advocate for Library presence in online learning. </li></ul>Qualifications Required Education and Experience:<ul><li>Master's degree in Library Science or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Five years of related experience. </li></ul>A Well-Qualified Candidate Will Also Possess:<ul><li>Demonstrated experience with modern e-Learning authoring and multimedia production tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, H5P, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, Vyond, or equivalent tools. </li><li>Experience with collaborating effectively with stakeholders such as faculty, staff, students, and/or administrators. </li><li>Demonstrated experience successfully implementing a systematic instructional design strategy in an academic or library context, or an advanced degree in Instructional Design. </li><li>Evidence of engagement with accessibility standards, including web accessibility standards (WCAG) and ADA requirements in educational contexts. </li><li>Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others </li><li>Knowledge of academic library functions. </li><li>Ability to communicate with all levels of customers and employees. </li><li>Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage time effectively. </li></ul>What You Need to Do Apply!
