Work experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.Physical Requirements and work Environment:  The environment is mostly office but may include a shop environment that is noisy and dirty. This position will be a part-time internship up to 40 hours per week during the summer. This position will be based onsite at our Duluth, MN facility. You must be able list up to 40 pounds. While performing these duties the individual is regularly required to sit, use finger tools and reach with hands and arms. The schedule is Monday - Thursday; 4:30 PM - 3:00 AM; 10% Night Shift Differential; Work beyond 40 hours per week may be required base company and production needs Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions <ul><li>Communicates company vision and organizational goals and objectives. </li><li>Ensures all safety standards/ policies are met. </li><li>Monitors employee performance. </li><li>Responsible for employee training and qualifications. Assigns trainers, monitors employee's progress and makes changes to station skill requirements as needed. </li><li>Executes production design as provided by Cirrus Process Engineering. Works with Process Engineers to correct and continually improve line design. </li><li>Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. </li><li>Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. </li><li>Sets a standard of teamwork in assigned area; coaches and guides employees, set plans for improvement, increase production, overcome obstacles, and achieve on time delivery with zero defects to internal customers. </li><li>Continually strives for process improvement, cost reduction, and labor hour reduction in assigned area. Identifies change initiatives and engages employees in positively implementing and communicating change. </li><li>Works to reduce scrap and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) and works to stay within the guidelines for overtime while monitoring absenteeism. </li></ul>Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
