PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: Incumbent serves as a Public Works Senior Specialist for the Public Works Department and is responsible for operating City equipment and vehicles under the supervision of Department Foremen and performing various skilled tasks consistent with the skill identifier for the job (carpenter, heavy equipment operator, signal maintainer). To be considered for a Senior Specialist position employee must be able to perform all facets of a specific skill identifier without instruction from supervision correctly, perform all required preventative maintenance without assistance from mechanics/supervision, and must possess sufficient communication skills to simplify, illustrate, and demonstrate their advanced skill knowledge and ability.
