Position Summary:
We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support a high-volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.

Responsibilities:
This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.  Ophthalmic skills include: <ul><li>Obtaining and documenting patient history</li><li>Determining visual acuity</li><li>Performing automated refraction</li><li>Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician</li><li>Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR</li><li>Providing patient services</li><li>Maintaining equipment and instruments</li></ul>

Qualifications:
• Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required • Must be flexible with traveling to various locations. • Ability to pay attention to detail • Ability to maintain confidentiality • The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable • The ability to recognize inconsistencies  Education: • Graduation from an accredited high school

Position Summary:
The Optician must be able to work with our diverse base of customers (i.e. pediatric, adolescent, and adult) by delivering quality optical care and outstanding and friendly customer service establishing customer loyalty. The Optician must be able to assist patients with eyeglasses ordering and fittings. The Optician must also possess strong sales skills by demonstrating a high level of knowledge about our products and determining our patient's need for eyewear to recommend specific accessories and or enhancement for glasses.

Responsibilities:
<ul><li> Interpretation of prescriptions written by ophthalmologists and optometrists </li><li> Communicate with physician regarding questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issues </li><li> Inspect lenses to detect flaws, verify prescription, progressive measurements, lens enhancements and coatings.</li><li> Measure bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers, using measuring devices </li><li> Mount and secure lenses in holding tools or chucks for cutting, polishing, and or grinding</li><li> Assist in selecting frames according to style and color, and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions </li><li> Recommend specific lenses, lens coating, other lens enhancements, and frames to suit patient needs </li><li> Verify that finished lenses are ground to specifications </li><li> Create work orders for lab technicians to ensure delivery of the proper lenses </li><li> Set up machines to polish, bevel, edge, or grind lenses -</li><li> Heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to properly fit </li><li> Shape lenses appropriately so that they can be inserted into frames</li><li> Repair broken/damaged frames </li><li>Educate on proper wear, care of eyeglasses, and contact lens </li><li> Inspect lenses to detect flaws, verify prescription, progressive measurements, lens enhancements and coatings.</li><li> Determine clients' current lens prescriptions, when necessary, using lensometers or lens analyzers, and mark up progressives correctly </li><li> Keeping track of orders, prescriptions, and inventory </li><li> Arrange and maintain displays of optical merchandise </li><li> Attend training workshops/meetings as scheduled </li><li> Other duties as assigned</li></ul>

Qualifications:
Qualifications:<ul><li> High School Diploma or Ged required </li><li> Minimum 2 years of eyecare experience required ABO Certified </li><li> Minimum Associates or equivalent and on-the-job training or post-secondary education </li><li> Strong computer knowledge and skills with a minimum typing speed of 30 AW PM Able to navigate multiple system applications </li><li> Ability to effectively communicate </li><li> Professionalism </li><li> Multi-tasking </li><li> Time Management </li><li> Organizational Skills </li><li> Attention to Detail </li><li> Strong computer knowledge and skills with a minimum typing speed of 30 AW PM. </li><li> Able to navigate multiple system applications.</li></ul>Preferred Skills: <ul><li> Prior retail sales or work in the healthcare industry (preferred)</li></ul>
