Under direction, the Waste Management Program Supervisor supervises, assigns, reviews, and participates in the work of staff responsible for complex professional planning work related to solid waste management, source reduction, recycling, composting, transformation, public awareness and education, and data collection and analysis related to transfer and landfill operations; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; and performs the most technical and complex tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility. Persons claiming eligibility for disabled veteran's preference must submit to the employment office, on or before the application deadline date, a certification from the United States Veterans Administration or a military service department, dated within 1 year, which certifies the present existence of a service related disability of 10% or more, or other acceptable proof of such disability as a result of his/her military service.
