Our team is committed to providing trauma-informed, client-centered services that promote lasting recovery.Position OverviewThe Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the Housing Department and ensuring the safety, structure, and well-being of clients within a residential setting. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, dependable, and capable of maintaining a therapeutic environment conducive to recovery.RequirementsKey Responsibilities<ul><li>Client Monitoring & Support</li><li>Attend to the day-to-day operations of the Housing Department.</li><li>Supervise all client activities and ensure adherence to the daily schedule.</li><li>Make routine rounds and document appropriately.</li><li>Provide immediate support for client concerns and ensure their immediate needs are addressed.</li><li>Redirect clients respectfully when necessary to maintain order and safety.</li><li>Observe and conduct Urine Drug Screens.</li><li>Observe self-administration of client medications and document in Medication Observation Records (MORs).</li></ul>Communication & Documentation<ul><li>Communicate all client concerns clearly and document as required.</li><li>Report all adverse client behaviors and emergent situations in a calm and organized manner.</li><li>Document all unsafe conditions and communicate necessary repairs to the Lead BHT.</li><li>Maintain accurate shift reports and other required documentation.</li></ul>Facility Maintenance & Safety<ul><li>Ensure the physical residence is maintained per State of Indiana Department of Health standards.</li><li>Uphold company operational systems including cleanliness of residential and clinical buildings.</li><li>Identify and report any unsafe conditions or needed repairs promptly.</li><li>Team Collaboration & Training</li><li>Work cohesively with all departments to ensure client safety and care.</li><li>Assist in training new BHT staff.</li><li>Communicate department needs to the Administrator.</li><li>Attend all scheduled meetings and training sessions.</li><li>Facilitate client groups under the supervision of the Administrator and Director of Substance Abuse Counseling Services.</li></ul>Qualifications / Required Experience<ul><li>A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a behavioral health, Mental Health, or residential care setting is preferred.</li><li>Ability to remain awake and alert during all working hours.</li><li>Knowledge of or willingness to be trained in observing UDS and medication self-administration procedures.</li><li>CPR certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).</li><li>Knowledge of Joint Commission requirements preferred.</li></ul>Essential Skills & Attributes<ul><li>Clear communication skills with clients, co-workers, and supervisors.</li><li>Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting.</li><li>Strong organizational and time management abilities.</li><li>Ability to follow directives and complete tasks thoroughly.</li><li>Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.</li><li>Maintains professional boundaries and ethical conduct at all times.</li><li>Positive attitude and high emotional resilience.</li></ul>BenefitsBoca Recovery Center offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:<ul><li>Health Insurance</li><li>Retirement Plans</li><li>Disability Coverage</li><li>Paid Time Off</li><li>Professional Development Opportunities</li><li>State-Required Trainings</li></ul>Join Boca Recovery Center and contribute to a meaningful mission: helping individuals build lasting recovery in a supportive and professionally rewarding environment.
