Our Community Living Department focuses on creating inclusive and supportive residential environments where individuals can thrive and achieve their highest potential. DSP RATE: $18.74/hour plus $2.00 per Hour Shift Differential for Weekend Shifts! What does a DSP in Community Living do? You will support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their individual pursuit of a fulfilling life by working as part of a team in a small residential home setting. You will support residents with life skills and household tasks such as meal planning and preparation, laundry, and light housework; as well as assist with personal care, administer medications, and provide transportation as needed. When you would work: We are interviewing DSP candidates to work in a wide variety of shifts throughout the week and weekends. Current openings include:<ul><li>Weekend shifts - Saturday and Sunday shifts available</li><li>Day shifts - morning to afternoon; afternoon to evening</li><li>Overnight shifts - beginning at 11pm</li></ul>Where you would work: A lovely residential home inWestminster, MD and/or Taneytown, MD. We will train you, and you are paid for all trainings!</li><li>DSP certification program available with potential for bonuses of $1000-$1,500 within your first year and each year you maintain your certification!</li></ul>Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:<ol><li>High school diploma or GED</li><li>Valid driver's license with no more than 2 current points on record</li><li>Basic computer and keyboarding skills</li><li>Clean drug screen and criminal record (The Arc provides programs, services, and direct care to vulnerable adults)</li><li>The ability to successfully pass a drug screening</li><li>The ability to complete CPR, First Aid, Certified Medication Technician, and other trainings mandated by the Developmental Disabilities Administration and The Arc</li></ol>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<ol><li>Ability to lift/manipulate at least 50 pounds frequently with ability to lift, carry and/or exert force in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally.</li><li>Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing required: Including lifting a wheelchair and repositioning an individual.</li><li>Ability to transfer individual from a chair to vehicle, bed to chair.
