Shipping Leader** will actively participate in the warehouse/shipping team and offer guidance, instructions, and direction to fellow team members. They will oversee the activities of associates involved in verifying and maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as preparing items for shipment. Additionally, they will manage warehouse tasks including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.Responsibilities<ul><li>Work in accordance with safety rules and actively support safety team</li><li>Maintain excellent standards for housekeeping</li><li>Initiate, submit, and track work orders for required maintenance and repairs</li><li>Direct and assign workloads, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of labor versus productivity</li><li>Conduct timely reviews of pick lists assuring FIFO requirements are incorporated and met</li><li>Schedule appointments with truck load carriers</li><li>Generate pick lists and CO's according to date, print them, and assist in the picking, scanning, and shipping processes</li><li>Create box labels, BOL, packing slips, and stickers as required for each item</li><li>Maintain organized order paperwork for efficient processing</li><li>Monitor and follow up on open orders to ensure on-time shipping results</li><li>Review orders against shipping or customer order requirements</li><li>Check receipts against PO/RA for proper shipment, shortages, damages or defects</li><li>Support and assist in parcel shipping/processing of all necessary paperwork</li><li>Receive incoming materials (packaging, resins, and finished/brokered goods)</li><li>Coordinate, initiate, participate in, and report physical inventory counts</li><li>Review inventory reports and reconcile report to actual counts</li><li>Perform reconciliation of conveyors</li><li>Participate fully in meetings, training sessions, skill building and professional development classes</li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned by management</li></ul>Education<ul><li>High School Diploma or Associates Degree</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>3-5 years’ work experience in a shipping setting</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities<ul><li>Data entry and keyboarding accuracy</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>Planning and problem solving abilities</li><li>Proven leadership skills</li><li>Ability to read a packing slip, pick list, and training material for certification on forklift</li><li>Organizational skills</li><li>Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel/Outlook and exposure to inventory software</li><li>Knowledge of modes of transportation and infrastructure</li><li>Forklift certification</li></ul>Essential Functions<ul><li>Regular and Reliable Attendance</li><li>Reading</li><li>Writing</li><li>Visual Acuity</li><li>Ascend/Descend Stairways and Platforms with Heights of up to 50+ feet</li><li>Standing for 12 hours</li><li>Walking</li><li>Bending</li><li>Twisting</li><li>Reaching</li><li>Pushing</li><li>Pulling</li><li>Lifting/Carrying up to 30 pounds (higher weights require a two-person lift)</li><li>ConcentrationDescriptionPetoskey Plastics aspires to stand out as an industry leader in sustainability, using advanced recycling technology to manufacture high-quality films, bags, and resins from post-consumer materials.
