Club Car boasts a 60+ year history of industry-leading innovation and design, initially focused on golf cars and then expanding to commercial utility vehicles and personal-use transportation.GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Packaging Engineer will develop and approve packaging for new product development and existing process improvements. This role will support packaging requirements from suppliers to customer delivery. The packaging engineer works closely with multiple cross functional teams to develop cost effective and sustainable solutions to optimize process flow and quality.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES<ul><li>Set requirements for packaging in new product and process development to support packaging strategic objectives.</li><li>Design and test packaging to protect inbound, internal and outbound parts/product from shipping and handling damage.</li><li>Design containers to support supply chain, material flow and line presentation with lean manufacturing process flow objectives.</li><li>Procure packaging solutions for new product development projects that meet quality, cost and schedule requirements.</li><li>Provide analysis of returnable packaging inventory requirements to management to support production volume and material stocking strategy.</li><li>Coordinate packaging development with supplier owned packaging.</li><li>Collaborate with Supplier Quality Team to complete PPAP documentation.</li><li>Define and monitor packaging repair processes to maintain safe and efficient material flow.</li><li>Create and update packaging and labelling standards to support supply chain and internal packaging development.</li><li>Support sustainability objectives by minimizing expendable material and process waste.</li><li>Identify and execute packaging cost saving opportunities by taking advantage of emerging packaging industry products and technologies.</li><li>Use 3D CAD software to review and measure pre-released product designs and develop packaging concepts.</li><li>Respond to production line parts damage issues by investigating root cause and implementing corrective action with packaging solutions where appropriate.</li></ul>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOBEducation:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Packaging Sciences, Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical) or related discipline.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>3+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain and/or logistics experience desirable.</li><li>3D CAD experience preferred (PTC Creo and Windchill or similar)</li></ul>KEY COMPETENCIES<ul><li>Working knowledge of material flow and lean manufacturing systems.</li><li>Strong project and time management skills with emphasis working with cross functional teams.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Travel should be less than 10%</li></ul>

Operates machines that perform one or more packing functions such as filling, marking, labeling, banding, tying, packing, or wrapping containers.

Industrial experience with a strong safety background desired. Experience with chemical handling, raw material weighing, inventory control, and RF scanning are all a plus.Responsibilities<ul><li>Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards</li><li>Follows all safety policies and procedures</li><li>Operates machines that perform one or more packing functions such as filling, marking, labeling, banding, tying, packing, or wrapping containers</li><li>Starts machines and observes operation to detect any possible malfunction of the machine</li><li>Makes minor adjustments or repairs to machinery</li><li>Inspects completed package to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications</li><li>Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job</li><li>Perform all operations in a safe manner to protect self and the equipment</li><li>Maintains packaging equipment</li><li>Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after packaging process</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by the area supervisor</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>2-5 years of industry experience required; more than 5 years of industry experience preferred</li><li>Forklift experience</li><li>Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in material handling field</li><li>Capable standing/sitting/walking 8 to 12 hrs per day in a manufacturing environment and comfortably lifting ~30 pounds of tools, fixtures, and components</li><li>Basic Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) knowledge is preferred</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both listening and speaking)</li></ul>
