p>Under the direction of the Operations Department, the Paramedic performs and assists with a comprehensive range of patient care activities — including emergency response and inter‑facility transportation — ensuring excellence in clinical practice and compassionate service throughout every patient encounter.
As the principal teaching affiliate of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and the only state-certified Level 1 Trauma Center in Northern New Jersey, University Hospital is training the next generation of physicians and advancing science to discovery while taking exceptional care of patients, regardless of their financial situation. The Paramedic is responsible for delivering and directing both Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS and ALS) care in the pre-hospital setting, in collaboration with EMS team members and under the guidance of a licensed Medical Control Physician (MCP) and EMS Supervisor.

Complies with uniform policy, maintains a neat, clean, professional appearance and wears appropriate identification, visible at all times, wears uniform with all appropriate personal equipment and spare uniform in accordance with NYU Langone Hospitals EMS and NYU Winthrop Hospital Policy and Procedures. Accurately completes NYS DOH BEMS Check Out Sheet and documents any deficiencies with corrective actions if any taken, in accordance with NYS DOH BEMS Part 800.
p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Current NYS Licensed Paramedic • BLS, ACLS, and PALS - if not AHA, must obtain AHA BLS within 3 months of hire • CCEMT-P, or CCT-P or FP-C • Valid Driver's license.
