EDUCATION: • Associate’s degree in laboratory science (chemical or biological) or medical laboratory technology obtained from an accredited institution or; • Education / training equivalent to the above that includes the following: o 60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution, OR 24 semester hours of science courses that includes 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination, AND o Laboratory training including either completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) . • Performs gross procedures and dictation on routine and complex specimens as required • Disposes of specimens as per guidelines and accreditation requirements • Maintains, repairs and troubleshoots all equipment contacting company technical service representative as required • Maintains digital equipment, keeps ready for use, produces digital photos, and assists with uploading and storage of digital files • Performs and ensures that gross room and frozen section areas are kept clean at all times all tools maintained in assigned areas, etc.
