A pathologist assistant is qualified by academic and practical training to provide the following services under the general direction and supervision of a pathologist: performs gross examination and dissection of all surgical pathology specimens, including complex surgical resections, description and tissue sectioning for histological preparation. Use of the follow equipment/tools: Cryostat, computer, photography equipment, gross stations, dictation systems, telephone/intercom, microscope, cassette etcher, x-ray machine and faxitron, x-ray film developer, and Stryker and bone saws.
