Patient populations may include cardiac stepdown, cardiac observation, post-procedure cardiac patients, neuro, trauma, surgical, medical, respiratory compromise, sepsis, renal failure, bleeding disorders, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, orthopedic conditions, and stroke. Required skills include intravenous medication titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) management, ostomy care, management of general drains, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and lumbar drain management.
