Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse license; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC); associate degree or certificate; at least 1 year of strong cardiac experience in a cardiac stepdown, intermediate cardiac, or cardiac intensive care setting; at least 2 years of intermediate care, progressive care, or telemetry experience; at least 1 year of recent EPIC charting experience; completion of at least one travel assignment; demonstrated experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips; ability to pass an electrocardiogram (EKG) test during the first week. Additional Information: The 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit cares for patients recovering from coronary artery bypass graft and valve procedures, thoracotomy, vascular procedures, catheterization, pacemaker and defibrillator procedures, ablations, acute chest pain and myocardial infarction, as well as patients with arrhythmia, congestive heart failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation, respiratory failure, femoral-popliteal bypass, detoxification needs, and medical-surgical overflow needs.
