Must treat all members of the community fairly with civility and respect; Ability to communicate and exchange ideas effectively with students, faculty, staff, municipal officers, and the public; be alert, friendly, mature, tactful, and firm; Excellent common sense applicable to situations with varying levels of urgency; Ability to provide appropriate guidance and action in emergency situations; Ability to handle confidential material; Available for assigned shifts and days off; May be subject to emergency calls 24 hours per day, seven days per week; Must be at least 21 years of age; Must understand and adhere to a belief in the role of college campus safety officers to support the mission of the college and to facilitate student education and growth, persistence and success. Promotes campus safety, crime prevention and awareness to the campus community including, but not limited to orientation for new students, faculty and staff; crime prevention literature, alcohol awareness and crime watch programs for residence halls, student organizations or other campus groups, upon request.
