We want your knowledge and expertise!<h5>Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. As a vital part of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures and monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation. What you will do in this role:<ul><li>Administers all therapy modalities to adult/pediatric/newborn patients per physician’s orders.</li><li>Initiates, operates and monitors mechanical ventilators for all age groups.</li><li>Performs arterial puncture, and blood gas and electrolyte analysis.</li><li>Responds to all rapid response and code blue calls.</li><li>Adheres to established quality control procedures.</li><li>Verifies all physician orders prior to therapy.</li><li>Conducts thorough, accurate report to oncoming staff.</li><li>Enters all patient contacts into Meditech.</li><li>Participates in all areas of departmental duties, including assistance in new employee orientation, precepting students and continuing education.</li><li>Performs regular equipment rounds.</li><li>Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/or significant others.
