The Pediatric Cardiac ICU provider will be working with a multidisciplinary team within the UT Southwestern Pediatric Critical Care/Cardiology division at Childrens Hospital in Dallas to provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients on our inpatient pediatric cardiac intensive care unit. The Division is among the largest in the nation with more than 50 faculty members who drive forward well-developed clinical and scholarly programs in interventional catheterization and electrophysiology; fetal cardiology, and management of congenital heart disease from infancy to adulthood; heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and cardiovascular disease prevention; critical care medicine; cardiac imaging by echo, CT, and MR; and application of AI tools in numerous aspects of patient care. With a 22-bed telemetry unit, a 32-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, a 1.5T cardiac MRI facility, and approximately 24,000 clinic visits/year, the Pediatric Cardiology faculty have resources sufficient to meet present and future needs of children across the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, with a population of more than 7,000,000 and growing.
