Responsibilities include preparing for patient visits, rooming patients, collecting and documenting patient information, taking vital signs, performing basic clinical procedures and testing, assisting with exams and specialty procedures, maintaining exam rooms and supplies, scheduling follow-up appointments and referrals, handling clerical and communication tasks, responding to emergencies, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Personnel in such positions, and similarly situated state contractors, will be routinely reviewed to determine whether things such as criminal history or continuous connections to the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the applicant, employee, or contractor from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.
