Admitting greater 2,500 patients annually, the Division cares for high acuity and high complexity patients with a variety of diagnosis that include acute respiratory failure, sepsis, acute kidney injury, trauma, neurocritical care diagnoses, solid organ transplantation, and bone marrow transplantation. In addition to the provision of common critical care therapies, the ICU has an active extracorporeal therapy program with access to continuous renal replacement therapy, apheresis, ventricular assist devices, and an ECMO program that commonly exceeds 30 cases annually.
