The technologist is responsible for: explaining the test procedure to the patient, applying all recording, monitoring and stimulating electrodes, recognizing and eliminating artifact, calibrating all equipment used and troubleshooting and correcting malfunctions, selecting appropriate amplifier settings and obtaining quality data.
