Unit support includes a charge nurse with a light patient assignment if staffing allows, a unit secretary available 24/7, a hospitalist available 24/7, respiratory therapy available 24/7, centralized telemetry monitoring, phlebotomy assistance with peripheral blood draws, and an IV/VAD team for central lines. Surgical cases include orthopedic spine/lumbar/cervical and joint cases, as well as ENT cases including laryngectomies, tracheostomies, thyroidectomy, head/neck dissection, and tongue resection; abdominal surgery overflow is also seen.
