The role of the registered nurse within Imaging/IR services is multifaceted including, but not limited to delivery of nursing care throughout all aspects of the services within the department: interventional procedures, administration of moderate sedation when applicable and as ordered by provider, pre-procedure care, recovery/PACU monitoring, nursing care during imaging (MSK, CT, etc.) and nursing care of patients in the IR Clinic. The RN: Assess the condition of the patient receiving Imaging/Interventional Radiology (IR) services via nursing process through identification of nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, communicating the plan of care, implementing appropriate nursing interventions and documenting and evaluating patient outcomes.
