Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required: • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Adult (AE) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCC) required • Current CPR certification • Patient Contact • Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups: • Neonate (0 thru 30 days) • Infant (31 thru 12 months) • Child (13 months thru 12 years) • Adolescent (13 years thru 17 years) • Adult (18 years thru 65 years) • Geriatric (66+ years) • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status • Possess the ability to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/department's policies and procedures. Notifies them if the test results require immediate additional tests and/or treatment Treats and uses lab equipment with care and performs routine maintenance Reports the equipment issues to the supervisor/manager and/or Bio-Medical department Observes safe operating techniques for the protection of patients and her/himself Keeps current with changes and advances in the field and obtains CME's to maintain registration and meet IAC requirements Attends the departmental QA meetings.
