The Personal Care Aide assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing and toileting, to ensure good hygiene, grooming and self-esteem; serves meals or monitors eating/drinking, accompanies residents to various activities, assists with admissions, discharges and transfers of residents to promote continuity of care. As a developmental opportunity within the role, the Med Tech must demonstrate knowledge of the Medication Administration Cycle: including observations, reporting of changes, visits to the practitioner, recording and storage of medication, and administration and documentation of medications.
