Interns will learn medication dispensing (interpreting orders, drug product selection, packaging, labeling), computer order entry of medication and IV orders, inventory control, IV compounding (aseptic technique and chemotherapy preparation), chart review, patient counseling, renal dosing, antibiotic monitoring, parenteral nutrition management, anticoagulation dosing and management, and much more. Summary: The goal of pharmacy internship is to ensure that every pharmacy intern obtains the experience necessary to enable him or her to practice competently.
