The Pharmacy Technician will provide services such as reading and interpreting prescriptions and medication orders written by medical staff, selection, and retrieval of medications of correct strength and dosage form prescribed, transcribe prescription data to labels using computer systems, prepare prescriptions for review by a pharmacist prior to dispensing, give pertinent patient instructions when appropriate; complete stock medication orders as instructed by the pharmacist. Perform minor clerical duties, such as use of BOP electronic medical record, computer documentation and scheduling, scanning documents, filing, typing, call-outs, institutional memorandums, answering phones, scheduling patients, and maintaining stock records.
