div>The MA State Office of Pharmacy (MSOPS) Pharmacy Distribution Center (PDC) provides medications via central fill in unit dose or blister card form for DDS, DPH, DMH, DOC, and HOC facilities throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Health System Pharmacy is responsible for providing customized pharmacy program solutions that reduce costs and improve patient care quality for hospitals, health systems and other integrated healthcare providers may also consult with and advise healthcare team on prescribed medications, supplies and related processes.
p>In this role, you'll work alongside Clinical Pharmacists, nurses, and physicians to ensure medications are prepared, delivered, and managed safely throughout the organization. Join our team and play an essential role in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient medication support to patients and healthcare teams across our hospital.
Assists pharmacists with filling prescriptions, answers phones, enters prescriptions into the computer, greets and assists customers, solves non-professional customer service issues; mails prescriptions; uses automated filling machines; files prescriptions and reports; conducts inventory and orders medications; handles third-party insurance, beside delivery to patients within the hospital. The framework is comprised of ten competencies (half People-Focused, half Performance-Focused) and are defined by observable and measurable skills and behaviors that contribute to workplace effectiveness and career success.
p>POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor, Pharmacist and according to department policies & procedures, and guidelines, Pharmacy Technician Trainee is responsible for performing many supportive functions in the department for the purpose of providing high quality patient focused pharmacy services. You can register as a pharmacy technician in Massachusetts if you meet the following requirements:
Be at least 18 years old;
Prove good moral character and not be convicted of a drug felony;
Have a high school diploma or GED or be working toward one (you need the diploma or GED to take the PCTB exam).

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting with the restocking of pharmaceutical products in all areas of the hospital, assisting Pharmacists in filling prescriptions, greeting patients and customers and other duties as needed.
Demonstrates strong ability to complete tasks within set time frames, and exercises initiative in problem solving to enhance productivity and efficient operation of the department. Prepares medications and IV solutions for patients using aseptic technique and ensures patient medications are ready when needed.
