General Pharmacy Technician duties may include: Prepare and package non-sterile compounded pharmaceuticals Prepare sterile products, injections and IV chemotherapy Fill automated dispensing cabinets on nursing units Correctly distribute and account for controlled substances usage Deliver medications to nursing units including surgical rooms Stock medications shelves, manage inventory dating, return excess stock to inventory, properly dispose expired medications or return to manufacturer Prepare and deliver investigational drugs per research protocols Respond and triage telephone and electronic message inquiries Assist the Pharmacist with auditing controlled substance utilization Complete restocking and dispensing activities using pharmacy automation Receive orders and prepare and package medications for outside clinics Build various medication kits, providing support to many different professions Conduct admission medication histories Assist the pharmacist in resuscitation bays Performing pharmacy cleaning and documentation Assist with training of staff Other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor to assist with preparation and delivery of patient medications Work in a highly collaborative environment including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Managers, Technician Supervisors, and other medical professionals Required Qualifications Ability to perform a wide range of physical activity: lifting, pulling, bending, manual dexterity movements.
