Job Summary:
<p style="margin:0px"><strong>Phlebotomist / Medical Technician</strong></p><p style="margin:0px"><strong>Location:</strong> Central Alabama Veterans Healthcare System (Montgomery, AL)<br/><strong>Contract Type:</strong> Temporary (Full-time, Monday–Friday with possible weekend rotation)</p><p style="margin:0px"><strong>Pay: </strong>$23.00/hr plus Health and Wellness</p><p style="margin:0px"><strong>Schedule</strong></p><ul style="margin-top:0in"><li>7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential weekend rotation.</li></ul><p style="margin:0px"><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p style="margin:0px">The Phlebotomist provides venipuncture and specimen collection services for inpatients and outpatients, ensuring positive patient identification and adherence to the highest standards of accuracy and patient safety.</p>

Primary Responsibilities:
<p style="margin:0px"><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul style="margin-top:0in"><li>Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws.</li><li>Accession and process incoming specimens.</li><li>Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling.</li><li>Maintain detailed records and logs of specimens collected.</li><li>Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and confidentiality protocols.</li></ul><p style="margin:0px">Participate in staff meetings and training as required.</p>

Minimum Qualifications:
<p style="margin:0px"><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul style="margin-top:0in"><li>High School Diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Recent (within the past year) phlebotomy experience.</li><li>Manual dexterity, keen observation, and sound judgment skills.</li><li>Ability to meet VA credentialing and training requirements, including proof of immunizations and negative TB test.</li><li>Fluent in English (written and verbal).</li></ul>

<h3>Description</h3><br/><div>Our hospital is seeking a Full-Time <strong>Veterinary Technician</strong> to help provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital.</div><div><br/></div><div>The Veterinary Technician is responsible for assisting Veterinarians in the care of animals. The Technician helps during initial examinations by restraining animals when necessary, stocking examination and surgery rooms with supplies, sterilizing tools and ensuring that equipment is in working order. Technical skills will include, but are not limited to: venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia administration, and monitoring, dental prophy, radiography, administering medications, performing laboratory analysis, and client education.
