Required: High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire and completion of one of the following that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program OR Medical Assistant program OR Certified Nursing Assistant Program, OR Licensed Practical Nurse program OR completion of one year of nursing school, upon hire or High School GED General Studies, upon hire and completion of one of the following that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program OR Medical Assistant program OR Certified Nursing Assistant Program, OR Licensed Practical Nurse program OR completion of one year of nursing school, upon hire Certified Nursing Assistant: WA, upon hire or Licensed Practical Nurse: WA, upon hire or Medical Assistant Certification: WA, upon hire or Registered Nursing Assistant: WA, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist: WA, within 6 - months. Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and clinical techniques, including (but not limited to): Basic Airway Management, CPR, Vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, oral and rectal temperature, Respirations, and pulse oximetry, Electrocardiogram, Point of care testing, Wound care including suture set-up, Assisting with eye and ear irrigation, Orthopedic splinting, Visual acuity, Suture/staple removal, Assisting with gastric lavage, Assisting with activities of daily living, Peak flow, Breath alcohol, Assists with removal of peripheral IV and urinary catheters, Conducts clinical activities requiring a Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy certification, such as blood glucose checks and phlebotomy.
