Mount Lemmon rises more than 9,000 feet in the Santa Catalina Mountains and is about an hour from the city center, giving travelers a change in elevation, cooler temperatures, and seasonal outdoor activities. The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is located about 15 miles west of central Tucson, and the historic Fourth Avenue district connects local dining, shops, and streetcar access near the University of Arizona.
