Execute a range of procedures including anal sphincterotomy, anoscopy, appendectomies, breast procedures (ultrasound-guided biopsies, I&D of abscesses, fine needle aspirations, lumpectomies, mastectomies, sentinel lymph node biopsies), colonoscopies, cholecystectomies, colon surgery, debridement of wounds, EGDs, exam under anesthesia, foreign body removal, hemorrhoid procedures, hernia repairs, other intra-abdominal procedures (laparoscopic exploration, lysis of adhesions, Nissen fundoplication, repair of perforated duodenal ulcer, small bowel resection), placement of PEG and feeding tubes, skin and soft tissue procedures, and limited vascular procedures. This role involves 24-hour shifts and offers a broad scope of practice in a rural community setting, with a focus on both office-based general surgery services and a variety of operative and endoscopic procedures, including a significant endoscopy component.
