Perform and/or assist with procedures consistent with training, competency, and approved privileges, including: Arterial and central venous catheter placement Cardioversion and defibrillation Temporary pacing management Chest tube management Participate in the initiation, management, and monitoring of mechanical circulatory support devices (e.g., IABP, Impella, ECMO, LVAD) in collaboration with physician leadership Lead or participate in multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate care transitions within the ICU and to lower levels of care. Establish medical diagnoses and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician for patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular disease, including acute coronary syndromes, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, complex arrhythmias, and post-procedural or post-operative cardiac complications Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies including laboratory testing, ECGs, telemetry, echocardiography, and other cardiovascular diagnostics as authorized.
